Sierra Rutile Limited is looking for qualified candidates for the following position
Job Title: Project Manager – Project Phoenix (1 Year)         Department: Warehouse
Job Grade/Level: TBC                     Report to: Finance and Supply Manager
Location: Mine Site                          Deadline: 15 April 2022

Overall Duties & Responsibilities: To manage the warehouse optimisation project (Project Phoenix) and  ensure that the project deliverables are achieved within the project timeline

Qualification and Experience:

  A Bachelor degree Procurement/Logistics/SupplyChain Management/Warehouse Management orrelated field
  At least 5 years warehouse management experience in the mining (or similar industry) with
extensive spare parts knowledge.
 MCIPS/CILT or a chartered status from a reputable supply Chain body.
 Experience in managing medium to large scale projects.
 Proven skills in Microsoft Office package
 ERP system (Inventory and warehouse modules) experience is essential. Pronto experience will be an advantage.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Warehouse Management:
 Develop warehouse strategy that best supports the needs of the business.
 Review SRL existing warehouse organisational chart and make recommendations regarding
structure and skill requirements.
 Review SRL’s current Warehouse Policies and Procedures and Process Flow and make recommendations on areas of possible improvement to align with best practice.
 Review warehouse layout and provide recommendations for an improved layout that will
enhance efficiencies.
 Drive implementation of identified best practice procedures.
 Manage the rebuilding of the new SRL Warehouse structures and identify additional storage facilities as required.
 Develop job descriptions for the various roles in the Warehouse structure.
 Develop training plans for the various sections within the warehouse and provide hands-on
training to all sections of the department.
 Support in the optimisation of Inventory and Warehouse reports using Pronto/Cognos.
 Support in the implementation of RFI in the Warehouse
 Work with the Risk and Security Manager to develop and implement a Warehouse security
plan.

2. Warehouse Operations:
 Provide support to the Commercial Manager and warehouse teams in day-to-day operations
(including inventory counting)
 Develop enhanced inventory cycle count procedures
 Review and develop SRL cataloguing procedures

3. Reporting:
Ensure that project deliverables are achieved on time and within budget by the provision of:
 Monthly detailed project reports
 Monthly presentation to senior management
4. Resource Management:
  Prioritise and supervise the tasks related to the Phoenix project delivery and monitor and appraise performance as appropriate.
 Take corrective action as required to ensure project targets are achieved.

5. Environment, Health and Safety:

 Ensure implementation of all applicable EHS
policies and procedures within the department.
 Enforce the wearing of PPE and uniforms by the department
 Ensure implementation of all applicable EHS policies and procedures within the department.
 Identify gaps in Safety compliance and implement improved processes
 Report safety & environmental incidents on time as and when they occur
 Report safety and environmental hazards on a weekly basis and provide team guidance with
respect to such incidents.
 Perform regular risk reviews and report as and when directed by management
 Ensure team awareness and compliance to JHAs
and SWI for tasks performed within the warehouse
